I'm new to Xilinx and Zynq. I have a microzed stand alone board and an arduino carrier card. Any suggestions on how to get the both the boards up and running?

The MicroZed PS will operate exactly the same whether it is plugged into the Carrier or not. I would start by plugging it into the Carrier, then use the MicroZed board definition to do a bare metal Hello World or TestApp.
