Restoring EEPROM of FT2232 on minized

shahabamo

Hi,

While using the FT_PROG tools to config the VCP port for debugging my application, I accidentally erased the EEPROM attached to FT2232H. After that,  Minized board could not be recognized by Vivado hardware server.

How to restore it? Could you please help me in some ways?

Regards,

Unfortunately, as stated in https://www.xilinx.com/support/answers/68889.html, "the proprietary solution is not documented or supported, and cannot be provided to customers as a reference."

Please do NOT use the FT_PROG tool in conjunction with the MiniZed. The only way to fix it after erasing it is to send it back to the factory, which is more expensive than just buying a new MiniZed.

    Thanks.
But It would be better to clarify this warning somewhere in the User guide, rather than asking users to send it back to the factory which effectively means them to throw away their board 0358.contentimage_2.png.

Yes, I agree. I am updating the User Guide now and will have it posted soon. This updated UG will more clearly designate the risk associated with using the FT_PROG utility with MiniZed. Again, I apologize for your trouble.
