Does the UltraZed-EV SOM support PCIe Gen3x16 on the PL side?

This is in regards to UltraZed-EV SOM. Would I be able to build a custom carrier card that brings out the PCIe interface on the PL side?

Hi there,

If you built your own carrier card, you could bring the transceivers out to a PCIe Gen 3 x16.

The Hardened IP does support this capability.

Note that if you are using this as a PCIe Endpoint, there are some caveats in doing this and you will want to ensure you check out the PCIe and other transceiver documentation - especially around potentially needing Partial Reconfiguration to get the PL loaded up fast enough to register with the PCIe Root complex.

Thanks for the quick reply Dan! I do plan to use this as a PCIe Endpoint and possibly use Tandem PCIe to accomplish meeting the BIOS PCIe enumeration time.
