I have an AES-MC-SBC-IMX8MINI-G with power ON problem, there is no LED light after I plug Type-C adaptor, because there is no local AVNET FAE can support this product in Taiwan,  I try to ask experts here.

Have you pressed the S3 PWR button? S3 is the system power button for the board.

Just to be clear: Functions of the three buttons are defined as follows:
    S1: USER button #1 (Back)
    S2: USER button #2 (Home)
    S3: PWR button

    The S3 PWR button supports
Short press (1 sec) : To power-up / or to Reboot
Long press (8 sec)  : To enter Standby...

    Dear Peterfenn,

      Thanks for your tips,

we connect LCD panel & Type-C adaptor than press S3 PWR, unfortunately it still not been powered ON.

We have two sets of AES-MC-SBC-IMX8MINI-G, adaptors, and LCD panels try to swap but we got the same result!

    Thank you so much!

    Hi,

There are few things you can do:

1- Verify that the power supply USB C works fine on some other device. You might be able to test by unpluging and replugging USB C to the bord, a green light will illuminate for a short period.

2- Do you have the correct Linux Image correctly flashed into the microSD card? There is no microSD card inserted as in the photo attached, the board won't show any activity without being booted!

3- Remove the LCD at this stage. If you want to use the LCD fucntional, you will need the right Linux image.

    Hi fouad_jh,

Thanks for your suggestion, we can bring up the system now!

however, the display is not working correctly, we try both Debian & Andriod , the result is the same!

Please kindly guide us to fix this issue.

we got the LCD on AVNET website: AES-ACC-MAAX-DISP2 by Avnet Engineering Services LCD Displays | Avnet

    Thank you!

    BR,

    Malcolm

    Hi,

Use external Monitor with HDMI (you might need to update uEnv.txt with the correct dtb file).

In the release note, it states that there is a known issue with MIPI screen after reboot. I am not sure if that is the case if you power off the board then back on.

    I hope that helps.

    Hi fouad_jh,

Our kit does not have HDMI port, we have to rely on the LCD to display monitor.

Good news is we can light the LCD panel by rebuild the Yocto BSP in this link,

    GitHub - Avnet/meta-maaxboard: Yocto meta-layer for MaaXBoard/Mini/Nano /Plus

    image

however, our target OS is Debain and we can not display LCD after we rebuild the Debain BSP,

GitHub - Avnet/maaxboard-debian-build: Scripts to build debian Lite/Desktop image for MaaXBoard / Mini / Nano / Plus

could you guide us to resolve this issue?

    Thank you ~!

    BR,

    Malcolm
