    We have one additional Carrier Card (with FMC) under development now. We have another one in proposal stage. Other ideas from the community are welcome!

     

    Unfortunately, there isn't enough I/O on the CLG400 going across the microheaders to support a Carrier Card that is a duplicate of all the missing functionality in comparison to ZedBoard.

     

    Please let me know your opinion on the most critical circuits that you'd like to see next.

    when I'm working with high speed ADCs, only FMC can handle the pace. Even the ADC manufacturers now make FMC adapters for their eval cards. Short of designing an adapter card from scratch, they're the only way to got when data rates leave PMOD behind.

    What else could I want? Well if I was greedy, I'd look at conventional dev boards {raspberry pi, beaglebone, cubieboard etc.] and ask for:

    1. HDMI (out= minimum, in=Digilent ATLYS level)
    2. SATA (Cubieboard), optional RAID
    3. S/PDIF audio I/O (out is common, in is rare)
    4. IR receiver (use as media centre, with remote)
    5. DDR RAM slots: expansion when I want it
    6. Multiple ethernet ports, WiFi.

    Remember how Walkmans, and Personal Information Managers (Blackberry) got "absorbed" by mobile phones? I'd like to see home routers "absorb" media centres, and possibly even NAS. A long-term goal, but I believe it's achievable.
