just curious does the LWIP store the received data in cache or to ddr? i plan transfer the ethernet data to PL using dma, not sure the best way to approach this.

Given how long this post has gone unanswered, I'm going to assume nobody viewing it has dug into the details of LWIP. Please feel free to correct me and post the answer here if I'm wrong!
LWIP is an open source project, and you may have better luck posting the question on an LWIP forum. There is a worldwide network of developers dedicated to supporting LWIP, and I'm sure there are people intimately familiar with the implementation.
