using microzed board with 2017.4

roymesi
roymesi over 7 years ago

In this link:

http://zedboard.org/support/documentation/1519

I've seen 'board definition files' only for versions which are prior to last release 2017.4 (e.g., 2016.4 and below).

Can I use these files also with 2017.4?

Same question goes for the tcl files in this link.

Thanks.

Yes, those board definitions and TCL files should work in any version of 2017.x. We need to update the label on our website.

    Hello,

I have just downloaded the latest uZed board definition file:

Avnet Zed Board Defnition Files.zip                                                     (is)

    and compared with previous:

Avnet Zed Board Definitions 2015_3or4_2016_1or2_160826_3.zip   (was)

But I have found differences not reflected in Revision History (file preset.xml \ 1.1 , for both 7010, 7020):

    was:

    user_parameter name="CONFIG.PCW_UIPARAM_DDR_CLOCK_0_LENGTH_MM" value="39.7"

    user_parameter name="CONFIG.PCW_UIPARAM_DDR_CLOCK_1_LENGTH_MM" value="39.7"

    user_parameter name="CONFIG.PCW_UIPARAM_DDR_CLOCK_2_LENGTH_MM" value="54.14"

    user_parameter name="CONFIG.PCW_UIPARAM_DDR_CLOCK_3_LENGTH_MM" value="54.14"

    is:

    user_parameter name="CONFIG.PCW_UIPARAM_DDR_CLOCK_0_LENGTH_MM" value="54.14"

    user_parameter name="CONFIG.PCW_UIPARAM_DDR_CLOCK_1_LENGTH_MM" value="54.14"

    user_parameter name="CONFIG.PCW_UIPARAM_DDR_CLOCK_2_LENGTH_MM" value="39.7"

    user_parameter name="CONFIG.PCW_UIPARAM_DDR_CLOCK_3_LENGTH_MM" value="39.7"

    So track lengths are swapped.

    Which is correct ?

I have to maintenance the uZed as old as rev. F01.

May I use the same board definitions for those old F01 and the uZed of the latest revisions?

Thank you in advance for help.

    Regards

    Robert

    Hello Josh,

thank you very much for this link. It is really impressive !

I would like to make a little clearance...

I guess that the Board Definitions I have just downloaded (dated 2018-01-01) is the best already known and suitable for uZed ver. G , isn't it ?

But I have also to maintenance uZed ver. F01. May I assume that this latest version is suitable for uZed as old as F01?  Or I should take an older "Board Definitions"?

    Regards

    Robert

    Hello Robert,

The Board Definition File dated (2018-01-01) is the suggested board definition file to be used regardless of uZed version.

So to answer your question, yes the 2018-01-01 version can/should be used with your uZed F01.
