RF board for microzed

suppamax
suppamax over 10 years ago

Hi,

I'm looking for an RF board to finish developing my SDR application based on microzed.
I was considering AD-FMCOMMS3-EBZ (which I know to be compatible with the zedboard) and I was wondering if I might use it with microzed.

If not, would you suggest any alternative?

Thanks a lot,
Max

    Hello,

Yes, MicroZed is compatible with AD-FMCOMMS3-EBZ, which accepts a Vadj voltage up to 3.3V.  The MicroZed FMC Carrier can generate 1.8, 2.5V, or 3.3V Vadj.

    Thanks,
    Matt

Just to be sure: the same is valid for FMCOMMS2, isn't it?

Yes, FMCOMMS2 also accepts Vadj voltage up to 3.3V.  You can verify this by finding the schematics for the FMC modules here:

    Thanks,
    Matt

do you know how shall I configure the jumpers of the FMC carrier board?
In particular I don't know what the FMC ADD one are for...

    Thanks,
    Max

    Hello,
I realized that I had a mis-type in my previous response.  I meant to clarify that MicroZed FMC Carrier can provide 1.8v,2.5V and 3.3V.  HOWEVER, the FMCOMMS2/3 modules can NOT be powered at 3.3V.  You must set the carrier Vadj voltage to either 1.8V or 2.5V.  We use 2.5V in our examples.
