MicroZed 7020 Ethernet receive problem

We are using a MicroZed 7020 running PetaLinux.  While receiving UDP traffic, there are times where the Ethernet receiver will stop working.

We have used iperf to stress the UDP traffic.  Sometimes it will fail in less than an hour and other times after several tens of hours.

When the Ethernet receiver stops, we find we can't reset the Ethernet port any other way except by doing a power cycle.

Has any one else seen this problem?

    Hello John,

     

    We have not seen an issue like this to date. Is there anything in your testing that would point to either the OS (PetaLinux) or the hardware?

     

    If you will send me information on your test setup via a private email I will attempt to duplicate the issue here.

    We are using the Marvell 88e1512 PHY transceiver on the Zynq-7020.  I was looking in the PetaLinux kernel source tree, in file, include/linux/marvell_phy.h, the PHY ID for this PHY is not listed.

    Does anybody know what the PHY ID is for the 88E1215?

    I believe the PHY address PHYAD[4:0] is set to 00000.

    Hi harbojo,

    Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I wanted to make sure that there is some closure here for anybody else who comes across this thread in a search like I did.

    I know there was some resolution for this and just wanted to make sure that the record gets set straight.

    Ultimately were you able to track this back to a specific version of PetaLinux? 

    I have been running exhaustive iperf3 tests on MicroZed for 7 days at a time using the Xilinx 2014.4 OSL release by simply modifying the FSBL for a MicroZed target and I have not observed a failure.

    Can you please also provide the iperf command with arguments that was used to observe the problems you mentioned?
