Microzed stopped working?

Former Member
Former Member over 9 years ago

I have a Microzed 7Z020I-G Rev F06 and have been using it without issues for several weeks until recently when I have issues.

LEDs D3 and D5 are on.

Device Manager does not detect the Microzed when I plug it in.

When I set the jumpers to SD Boot Mode and insert a known good card with Pulsar Linux on it, the COM port does not appear in Device Manager.

SDK "Program FPGA" fails because "Could not find FPGA device on the board for connection 'Local'." Boot jumpers set to JTAG.

On my Linux computer, petalinux-boot does not find the microzed when trying to program petalinux with a HS3 JTAG cable. Boot jumpers set to JTAG.

I have tried powering the microzed with J2. I have also tried with the FMC Carrier Card.

What can I try to fix the issues? The issue didn't start until yesterday when I was trying to program the device.

    Hello BB,

I would check and make sure that the microUSB cable to the MicroZed is good and that the USB port that you are connecting to has adequate power to supply the MicroZed. If you can try a different cable and USB port to verity that would be a good test.

Otherwise is sounds like you may have damaged your board.

    Hi Gary,
I have tried different microUSB cables, different ports, and a different computer. What could have damaged the board?

    Hi BB,

Most likely would be Electro Static Discharge. While it references a different Zynq based board this post on the Xilinx Community Forums addresses likely issues in handling a board that is not 'packaged' into a system:

If you board is within the warranty period you can request an RMA from your purchase location.
