Serial data in + save to ddr3

Hello,

I am trying read in 32 bit serial data and push the data into ram using the AXI dma controller. Effectively, it would ideally work similar to say....the AXI SPI, in which it writes data over to specific memory addresses.

Where do I even start?

We have one example of using the AXI DMA Controller. Please refer to the Developing Zynq Hardware Speedway

Hi Josh,

Thank you for your reply. The tutorial really is helping me out. I just wanted to clarify one thing, but if I created an axi-lite peripheral, would I still need the AXI DMA controller? It seems as though if I go through {tools>create and package IP} that the AXI lite interface already does what the AXI DMA controller would have otherwise done, with one less step. Am I misunderstanding this?
