Carrier Card USB connection

Hey Folks,
I recently acquired the MicroZed Breakout Carrier Card, and noticed that when I plop the SOM into the carrier card, it severs the USB-UART connection. Is this the intended functionality? Is that UART available somewhere on the Carrier card now?

I ask because I am trying to debug my design and cant seem to get a UARTlite to work as standard out (it's spitting something out, but nothing that I can work with).

Rob,

You should not lose your USB-UART connection. However, you will need to plug-in power to the breakout carrier. We've used a microUSB connector, but it has no functionality other than power. Try to use a USB connection that will provide 1A or more.

You mention UARTlite. Are you also doing a MicroBlaze design inside the Zynq PL?
