MicroZed with Petalinux 2015.4 Kernel USB Driver settings

Hey all,

I just moved my project to petalinux 2015.4 and am finding the googled items to solve the lack of USB functionality are not helping. (USB used to work in 2014.2)

Can anyone point me in the direction of the kernel settings to get the MicroZed's USB port back to working? (for use with Mass Storage?)

I found the Xilinx Answer that specifies turning on the ChipIdea host controller and the phy settings for NOP and ULPI -- but it's not working.

One of my colleagues here has confirmed that there is an issue with USB-OTG and PetaLinux 2015.4 on MicroZed. We have a query into Xilinx but responses may be slowed by the holidays.

He also confirmed that USB-OTG does work with PetaLinux 2015.2.1 on the MicroZed with the required Xilinx fixes. I don't know if using 2015.2.1 is an option for you until we have a resolution or not.

I will update when I have any new information.

This is still in the realm of the Xilinx engineers. We continue to push them for a solution but so far there is no workaround for 2015.4, except to revert to an older PetaLinux release.

Does PetaLinux 2015.2.1 work with Vivado 2015.4 or do I need to downgrade Vivado to 2015.2 as well? Thanks.

Mixing tool versions with Xilinx is not recommended, but that doesn't mean it might not work. However, if you are trying to debug something, running in mixed mode can inject issues which may not be obviously attributable to the tool differences.
So the general rule is to keep tool versions for hardware and software in sync.
