AMS header VREF AND VCCADC intention?

Hi,

The AMS header (connector 1 on the IO carrier card) has pins for VCCADC and VREF along with the analog inputs.

Since these voltages are supplied on the IO Carrier card do they have a purpose of being connected to the AMS header? In a different design are these connections there to give the option of providing external VCC and VREF to the XADC?

Sam,
They are present in order to provide some power to various boards and modules that might plug into the CONN1 Connector. They are not SUPER high current, but for most designs I think there is ample power.
