A clarification on Ethernet

Hi, new to the forum and to the microzed.

I have a question (obviously :) ), i hope this is the right subforum for it, apologies if it is not.

So, i am trying to develop a ethernet application, to begging with i started reading the hardware guide for the microzed and read that the phy is connected to the mac in the PS directly to the MIO pins. Thus, there s no need for PL for the connections, right?

So, in my case, im using vivado, does that mean that to set up the PL side of thinks you just need to create a block diagram, instantiate the zynq ip, run block automate, ensure eth0 is enable (it is by default), and the just genereta the bitstream and move onto the PS code development?

Im addig an image of my current setUp in vivado:  https://ibb.co/dOpECa

    Hello Jaime,

That is correct! You may also want to take a look at the example designs located here for the MicroZed. http://ethernetfmc.com/exampledesigns/

They are done with an FMC Carrier Card and FMC Module, but you should be able to take the principles away for it.
