Is my microzed DOA?

Hi All,

I recently received a Microzed SOM, but can't get any sign of life from the USB UART, which would suggest to me a power problem??

I must have made a mistake ordering the thing from AVNetExpress, because it didnt include the pre loaded SD card, cable and Xilinx licence. (is there a way to apply for this by the way?).

Also the boot jumpers were not populated, but there are what look like surface mount jumpers preset to QSPI mode. Should I remove these before soldering in some headers?

    Thanks for the fast reply Gary. Yes, I think i do have a cost optimized version, which is slightly disappointing, it's a little unclear on the avnet website.

    I suspect exchanging the board may be expensive (I'm in the UK and had to ship from USA), is it possible to solder barrel jack and use that?

    Is there anything stopping me from putting a JTAG header on the board itself? looks like a standard 2mm surface mount job.
