Is there example hdl code on the github repo that works on the MicroZed 7020 with I/O Carrier Board and 2018.3 Vivado?

I can't get the code mentioned on the readme (make_mz_iocc_sensor_fusion.tcl) to work, the error message implies that the code is looking for version 1.0 of the board file and the version I downloaded is version 1.1.

 

I tried running one of the display examples (make_microzed_iocc_ali3_amp10.tcl) and that one behaved strangely. It appeared to run a few times and then Vivado crashed with "EXIT 134".

 

I'd like a working starting point to understand the Xilinx Flow. I'm used to Quartus (from ages ago) and have some experience building with gcc for ARM, but the Xilinx Flow is completely new for me.

    Hi brian,


    Looking at the sensor fusion script your referencing, it was last updated in Vivado 2015.4. You will find issue with running the 2018.3 tools with it.

     

    The latest example we have is for the Vivado 2018.2 tool set https://github.com/Avnet/hdl/blob/master/Scripts/make_mz_petalinux.tcl

    My suggestion if you want to understand the scripting process using microZed, download the 2018.2 tools and start with that.

    I ran that script and got the same error I getting from the older scripts.

     

    ERROR: [Board 49-71] The board_part definition was not found for em.avnet.com:ultrazed_eg_iocc_production:part0:1.0. The project's board_part property was not set, but the project's part property was set to xczu3eg-sfva625-1-i. Valid board_part values can be retrieved with the 'get_board_parts' Tcl command. Check if board.repoPaths parameter is set and the board_part is installed from the tcl app store.
