What CAD program was used, Altium?

The MicroZed is an Altium project. For design source request you must work with local Avnet field team to submit request.

I contacted Avnet and they referred me back to Element14.

Did you contact Avnet as an individual or through a company? If there isn’t opportunity behind the request you will find it difficult to get source files.
