ZYNQ PCIe Root Complex issue

Former Member
Former Member over 11 years ago

My customer design a Root Complex mode based ZC7015 refering AVNET Mini-ITX RC PCIe reference design.
But we meet initial failed issue.
The attachment is UART info.
Can you give some advice about it?

    First of all, three questions:

    1. What board are you targetting with this design?

    2. What version of the Xilinx tools were used to create the hardware design?

    3. What is the manufacturer, size and class of the SD or microSD card that you are using?

The log indicates that the first partition on the SD media is not found, and from the "insert SD card" message it appears the system doesn't believe there is an SD card attached.  There are several potential reasons this could happen:

    1. SD card is not recognized because it doesn't respond to CMD 0 quickly enough (use a SanDisk or PNY card instead)

    2. SD card is improperly formatted (check the FAT32 partition in a Windows machine, but probably you did this)

    3. microSD card needs a pin assigned to force the write-protect pin assignment low, as Linux will not operate with a read-only file system.  However, this is only a problem if you are using Vivado 2014.1 or older for the hardware design.

    4. Error in the device tree blob that has the SD card at the wrong address.   If you are following the standard PS peripheral design, this is probably not the issue.
