non-root user cannot login using ssh

Hello,

I have been trying to make a non-root user accessible from ssh but it seems dropbear has a bug or something. I was trying to trace the cause so far without real clue.

A normal ssh login to root shows like this (debug enable)

The root dir exists and has correct ownership.
 
 
I was thinking to isolate the issue and try to login using the serial console but cannot find how to disable auto-login, as it automatically login as root when boots, my inittab is

I inspect the start_getty but cannot find any reason for this.

    I did a log when trying to login with an already created user

    First when a bad password is entered i can see
