SMS Message Send

I cannot successfully send an SMS Message.

Here is my sequence

AT+CSCA?\r\n

+CSCA: "+19037029920",145\r\n

AT+CMFG=1\r\n

OK\r\n

AT+CMGS="+1aaabbbccc"\r\n

\r\n>

Test Message<ctrl+Z>

\r\nERROR\r\n

I never get any response except error.

Any thought?

Note: the 'aaabbbccc' above is my personal phone number

Problem was our SIM card. The cards we had were not for M1 modems.

There may be an AT command to turn on error reporting (I've not used this product so I don't know what the command is, but it should be in the AT command reference guide for your product).

I doubt the module cannot provide any error code at all.

You were right, I found the command +CMEE to turn on errors.

So now I get +CMS ERROR: unknown error\r\n

So frustrating.

Does your IoT/M2M SIM agreement include SMS? Some might not.

It might be worth contacting the service provider in case they can spot unusual for that SIM or event logs, since CMS signifies it might be a network related issue.

I am looking into that.

We have used SMS with other cellular modems and our agreement without issue.

I am going to activate a card using a data plan as described in the hardware integration guide and see if that works.
