Picozed Card Carrier V2 - Minimum power supply (Vdc) needed

Hi,

I'm going over the datasheet and user guide for the V2 card carrier of the the Picozed and was wondering if this unit could be powered (with equivalent performance) at a lower voltage?

The 12Vdc appears to route through the ADP2384 and ADP5052 to drop down to proper levels and distributed throughout the board. The PSU is rated at 12V but as long as I can meet >4A current for another supply, could I use a lower voltage? or was there a specific reason for using 12Vdc?

The reason is that I'm repackaging the unit for another application and the rest of the electronics do not require 12V.

    The PicoZed itself will operate fine off a 5V input source. The 12V is required by the FMC interface. If you are not using the FMC, you can populate R112 on the board with a 0 ohm resistor to short Vin to the 5V rail. For good measure, remove R118 as well so that the ADP2384 is not enabled.

    These should be the only required modifications to run the carrier at 5V as long as you are NOT using the FMC interface.
