Has anyone experienced the 33.333 MHz oscillator on the Picozed fail? We purchased 4 picozeds, 3 of them have had oscillator failures. Picozeds are REV-C003 industrial grades. Normal operating temperature ranges for our application are significantly lower than the 85 *C maximum rating for the chip. Broken oscillators are showing frequencies of around 36-37MHz.
We noticed this issue when our console port started displaying garbage characters. We tracked the issue down with a scope that can decode serial data; the actual baudrate that the data was being sent out at was about 10% different than what it was supposed to be, which is 115200 baud. We then measured the frequency of the 33.333MHZ oscillator and noticed the difference.
We replaced the oscillator on one of the three boards and everything seems fine again on that board; console seems to be operating normally again, hmmm.
