PicoZed SDR FMC documentation

Former Member
Former Member over 9 years ago

Good Evening,

I have a PicoZed SDR kit with the fmc board (AES-PZSDRCC-FMC-G). I am looking for documentation on the fmc board, specifically the various SMA connectors on the board. The only documentation I can find is the "PicoZed SDR AD9361 Development Kit Getting Started Guide" Is there more verbose documentation available?

Thank you,

Philip Hahn

    Hi Philip,

We're finishing up reviews on the FMC User Guide. Meanwhile, can you get what you need from the schematics posted here?

    http://picozed.org/support/documentation/10531

Let me know if you have specific questions.

    /Matt

    Hi Matt,

Specifically I'm looking for where each of the SMA RF connectors map to the PicoZed SDR module.

Also, there are no reference designs/tutorials for the PicoZed SDR or FMC carrier card (http://zedboard.org/support/design) do you anticipate propagating those in the future?

    Thanks,

    philip

    Hi Philip,

It may save you some time looking at the FMC Carrier and SOM schematics to see the table below which will be in the FMC Carrier User Guide.

Also the SMAs are as follows:

    •   J1 = alternate clock input to the AD9361 (AD9361_CLK)
    •   J2 = carrier clock synthesizer chip (AD9517) output; same clock sent to Zynq MGT bank as reference
    •   J3 = Zynq MGTTX2_N (inc.DC blocking capacitor)
    •   J4 = Zynq MGTTX2_P (inc.DC blocking capacitor)
    •   J5 = Zynq MGTRX2_N
    •   J6 = Zynq MGTRX2_P
    •   J7 = alternate clock ref input to the AD9517 clock synthesizer on the carrier

The reference design is described in the Getting Started Guide.
