Cannot ping PicoZed from MATLAB (again)

I've posted on this topic before, but this is a new case.  I have 2 PicoZeds.  They're identically configured, and have the same MATLAB boot image.  I can ping PicoZed 1 from my Linux workstations, but I cannot ping PicoZed 2 (get Destination Host Unreachable).  Have two Linux workstations, both at 192.168.3.3, and both PicoZeds are 192.168.3.2, using direct connect.  I swapped which computer connects to which PicoZed.  PicoZed 2 always fails ping, no matter which workstation it's connected to. I've also swapped boot images, still it's always PicoZed 2 that fails, regardless of which SD card is inserted.

What could it be?  The only thing I can figure is that Picozed 2 has defective ethernet port.  Has anyone else seen this?

On SOM #2 are you able to connect serial terminal via USB-UART and confirm with ifconfig that it's IP address is what you expect?

Another debug step. Can you try the SD card image provided by ADI (the one shipped with your kit) to confirm the ethernet problem?

instructions for re-imageing your 8GB SD card:

Will try USB-UART and orig SD card image as suggested.  Can you point to procedures for USB-UART?

Do you know if the IP address is included in the SD card boot image?  Reason I ask is because I can ping SOM #1 with MATLAB SD, but when I put SOM #1 MATLAB SD card into SOM #2, and then boot SOM #2, I cannot ping SOM #2.

Hello Matt, I connected Linux host to SOM #2 via USB-UART.  Configured and started minicom on Linux host.  Booted SOM #2.  All the boot info started scrolling in minicom.  Final line was -------System Running--------.   Scrolled back and SOM #2 is at 192.168.3.2 netmask 255.255.255.0.  Yet I cannot ping SOM #2 from Linux host at 192.168.3.3.  If I connect host to SOM #1, identically configured like SOM #2, no problem I can ping all day.  I think there's something wrong with SOM #2.

    Thanks for the extra detail.

For others reading this post, the local Avnet team is swapping his module and we will get this SOM in the lab for debug and root cause analysis.

My Avnet FAE and Account Manager got new SOM to me.  It worked out of the box.  Thanks.  I'll still leave this as unsolved for now b/c I'd like to see results of the lab debug.
