Hi,

My monitor can not display anything 50 seconds later after the board was powered on, and the monitor was connected with board correctly, and it can work well when connected with PC.

when board was powered on:

DS 1:on

DS 8:on

DS 4:on ,3 seconds later off

My understanding is that your monitor remains completely blank after power-on; not even the (2) Linux tux logos that normally appear prior to the UBUNTU desktop -- please confirm.

If so, then there are (3) possibilities:

    1) you may have omitted to copy the proper boot files onto the FAT32 partition of the SD card that came with the PicoZed SDR Development Kit. The Quick Start Card shipped with your kit also contains the below instructions.

       Reference: http://picozed.org/sites/default/files/documentations/QSC-Kit%20-%20PicoZed%E2%84%A2%20SDR%20AD9361-v8.pdf

       a) Insert the microSD card into a Windows laptop or PC
       b) Open the folder named zynq-picozed-sdr2-fmc
       c) Copy files BOOT.BIN and devicetree.dtb into the SD card root directory
       d) safely eject the microSD card from the PC

    2) The SD card select switch SW1 on the PicoZed SDR SOM and/or boot-mode switches S3 and S4 on the SOM are incorrectly set to boot from the SD card, which can be on the SOM or on the carrier. Configure the SOM switches SW1, SW2, and SW3 as shown in the Quick Start Card and/or link above.
For a complete description of the Configuration Modes, see section 4.12, page 34 of the PicoZed SDR SOM User Guide http://picozed.org/sites/default/files/documentations/PicoZed%20SDR%20Z7035-AD9361%20SOM%20User%27s%20Guide%20v1.5.pdf

If steps 1 & 2 are correct, you should see a blue LED labeled “CFG DONE” on the PicoZed SDR FMC Carrier Card illuminate when configuration of the Zynq PL is complete. Some 30-45 seconds later, the (2) Linux tux logos should appear on the screen, followed by the UBUNTU desktop.

    3) Your particular HDMI display monitor is not compatible. This is a rare occurence, but we cannot claim to have tested every possible brand of HDMi displays.

Thanks for your reply.  the step 1 & 2 are all correct. Maybe , i could not describe the phenomenon in detail.

One week ago, I could power on the board and the monitor displayed correctly. And all the  operation were following the user's guide. The next I copy the backups of SD card to my PC,then i use the matlab software generate a boot packege to SD card,  the SD card was erased. But , the question was when i copy the backups back to SD card , it appeared the result just as described before. In addtion, i bought a new SD card, copy the backups to it , its result were the same.

The SD card contains both a FAT32 partition visible on a Windows PC, and an EXT4 partition visible to Linux. You over-wrote the original Analog Devices image shipped with the kit when configuring the SD card through MathWorks tools. When you subsequently copied back the folder structure from your Windows PC, only the FAT32 files came back, while EXT4 were left with MathWorks files. Consequently the SD card contained a mix of Analog Devices FAT32 and MathWorks EXT4 and PicoZed SDR cannot boot.

At this point you need to completely restore the SD card to the Analog Devices image: https://wiki.analog.com/resources/tools-software/linux-software/zynq_images

      Some more background:

MathWorks SD card image for PicoZed SDR using Communications System Toolbox Support Package for Xilinx Zynq-Based Radio is meant for radio-in-the-loop realtime data capture to Simulink, and targetting (HDL code generation) using HDL Workflow Advisor to a Vivado project. http://www.mathworks.com/help/supportpkg/xilinxzynqbasedradio/index.html

Analog Devices uses a Linux kernel with driver for the ADV7511 HDMI chip to display UBUNTU desktop. MathWorks uses a different Linux kernel not meant for stand-alone Linux desktop.

For a step-by-step description of writing the MathWorks FPGA image to the SD card for radio-in-the-loop, view PicoZed SDR SpeedWay Day 1 PM Lab: QPSK Receiver with Radio-in-the-Loop http://microzed.org/videos/qpsk-receiver-radio-loop ... starting at time 14:00

If you plan to work with MathWorks flows for PicoZed SDR, I recommend that you watch the entire series of PicoZed SDR online videos:
