DMA support

Hi,
i'm writing a driver which should transfer data from my custom ip to memory (via AXI Bus). but if i compile the sources i get the following error: implicit declaration of function 'request_dma'. this function is declared in asm/dma.h which refers to arch/arm/include/asm/dma.h. There is a #ifdef CONFIG_ISA_DMA_API that is not set by the kernel. I tried to set it with menuconfig but it was not possible.
Maybe someone has an advice?

I think you are right that the prototype is not there before use of the function in your code.
but you do include the header where it is defined?
well, sorry i'm not your guy. anybody fixed this software glitch (in Linux)?

I found a solution for this problem. Now I use the dmaengine interface instead of dma.

i'm having the same error with the latest version of the xilinx linux kernel. "error: implicit declaration of function 'request_dma'"

any news regarding this?

Got it. Gotta include dmaengine.h instead of ISA DMA.
