Using Xilliybus with PmodACL2

Hi everyone,

I'm just new to the world of Zedboard and programmable logic. I have a background on software development, but now I'm starting with PL.

I want to build an PL that can read the data on PmodACL2 and send it to PS. I'm using Xillinux as OS.

Before I start working on the PL, I would like "to feel" the PmodACL2 using common C program, however I did not find any example available that worked with me.

Does anyone have someplace I could find an example? it can be for PmodGyro as well.

Thanks!

    Hello,

While setting up Xillinux, you compiled some logic for the PL side. I suggest looking at the sources of that logic, and start playing with xillydemo.v (or xillydemo.vhd if you prefer VHDL). Bring yourself to understand the module, and take it from there.

Once you understand how the loopback example works, it won't be too difficult to interact with the outer world.

    Regards,
       Eli

Thank you for your reply, Eli.

I played with Xillydemo for a while and now I'm moving forward. My application is capable of communicating with PS. My issue now is to make my Pmod work.

I mixed the digilent example for PmodGYRO with xillycapture.  However I'm not being able to get data from PmodGYRO.

I created some dummy signals for PS_GPIO and connected PS_GPIO (27 to 24) in the digilent logic to capture the gyroscope data.

From the digilent example I'm only getting 0, and if I try to show directly what is on the Pmod, it's only 1's (The same as if was disconnected).

Do I need to do something else to get it to work?

    Thank you,
    Laudelino

Someone has any idea about that?

Do I need to Re-customize my IP to enable SPI0 or 1 for my PL work?
