Alternative Compiler and IDE

Hi all,

I wanted to ask you, if any one of you has already tried to program a bare-metal application with another compiler then the xilinx-gcc and/or with another IDE then the Xilinx SDK.

I wanted to know this, because I'm not really happy with the automatic vectorization of the gcc.
I think this compiler is not intelligent enough, to vectorize more complex software-projects.
And I hope, that other compilers are more intelligent.
