How to use webcam on Zedboard

The version of my Zedboard is Rev/d

When I plunge in the Logic C170 webcam and use Cheese to test, it doesn't work.I can't find /dev/video0.

I search the problem on the internet, and some people think I should rebuild the linux kernel to make UVC work. After my building and make a new zImage, I find /dev/video0 but the webcam don't work as well.

Anybody konws what's going on?

A coworker and I got this to work a few years ago on an older release of Linux so I am not sure what may have changed since then, probably quite a lot.

Have you tried looking at this demo here?

From what I remember, we needed to use a POWERED USB hub to connect the webcam to ZedBoard, otherwise the camera would not get enough power to enumerate properly.
