Unable to read from terminal

Hi,
I'm running a simple Hello World bare metal application which prints the string correctly on every terminal I've used but I'm unable to put data from the terminal because it seems to be "locked".

If I use the gets(..) instruction the execution will stop on _read() because it waits for data which will never come.

I followed the guide zedboard.org/sites/default/files/documentations/CP210x_Setup_Guide_1_2.pdf .

Could someone give me a suggestion?

gets(..) might be similar to getchar() in that it only returns the input once an 'Enter' is received:

Gary thanks for reply.
I was unable to put data because the terminal seemed "locked" (no input catched).

However I solved by installing an older Cypress USB driver.

Hi,

I have exactly the same problem.
However :
* I can communicate with the default linux provided with the sd card.
* The example application (interrupt and polled mode) work fine as long as they run with uart in loopback mode.

So why I can not achieve to send data onto uart from my terminal ?
