Temparature sensor

Former Member

Hi everybody!
I currently have the xillinux from xillybus running on the zedboard and I got told yesterday that there is a temperature sensor on the board.

My idea is to write a simple C++ program to read that sensor.

But I'm new to all this stuff, never done anything with a board like that and simply followed the instructions so far. And I'm very glad to have a nice desktop to work with :)

So is there any way to read that sensor, if it exists, with the xillinux and C++?

The only temperature on board is the internal one that is accessible through the XADC.  I'm guessing this is not connected by default within xillinux, so you'd have to look at adding that yourself.

You can add an external temperature sensor through a Pmod.  Maxim's new Analog collection includes one.  Again, you'd have to modify your build to include an interface to it.

    hello,

i have the same project, just i try Xillinux, i will try to rebuild the core, in case to detect the temperature, the second thing, i think that, it is possible to read the temperature without using an os in ZedBoard ?

    what you suggest
