USB5744 HUB programmation on the ULTRA96

Question

Hello,

I have a question dealing with the USB5744 Microchip HUB implemented on the ULTRA96 board. Reading its datasheet it is written that he may be programmed by some straps, by its SMBbus interface or by its OTP ROM for additionnal functionnalities.

How is it done on the ULTRA96? I mean is there any custom programmation done by Avnet (in factory) in order to get specified functionnalities or is the component "blank" and used with its standard configuration?

Another way to ask the question will be : if I buy the USB5744 component from Microchip and use it on my custom board, will it work as the one on the AVNET ULTRA96 board?

Hi Christophe,

I have looked through the factory test code and documentation and there is nothing that stands out as an indication that we are using anything other than the default mode of operation for USB5744 when the device is configured via strapping.

If you purchase the USB5744 and wire the same as we have it on Ultra96 then it should operate the same as you see on Ultra96.
