Ultrazed Board File 2016.4 not getting detected in Vivado

Hi,

I have extracted the three folders of ultrazed_board_definition_files_v2016_4.zip to <Installation Directory>/Vivado/2016.4/data/boards/boards_files/ .

The names of three folders are

1) ultrazed_3eg_iocc_es1

2) ultrazed_3eg_som_es1

3) ultrazed_3eg_pciecc_es1

Still Vivado 2016.4 do not see board files while creating the project.

I am following UltraZed_EG_Starter_Kit_Tutorial_Vivado_2016_4.pdf to kickstart the project.

Is this any known issue and is there any work around for this ? Or Am I missing any steps?

    Please follow the instructions listed on the UltraZed-EG Starter Kit Quick Start Card (QSC) shipped with the Starter Kit to install the ES1 license and enable the ES1 devices. You can also download the QSC from our website microzed.org/support/documentation/14201.

    Followed the direction, but the 3 UltraZed board files didn't show up.  Any clues?  
    I am running on CentOS 7.x

    Hi Mtsao,

    Did you install the ES1 license and enable the ES1 devices? Can you see any of the EG ES1 devices when you go to create a new project?

    Here is a clue:   No -ES1 shown in " Dafault Part  ->   Family  ->  Zynq UltraScale+  -> parts"

    Are the "-ES1" parts remoived from this Vivado 2016.4 build?

    On the License Manager  Status panel, showing 2 rows:

    XCZU3EG-ES1_bitgen

    xczu3eg-es1

     

    On the New Project  ->  Default Part -> Family : Showing two pull-downs

    Zynq UnltraScale+     ->  xczu3eg-xxxxxxx-EVAL          [[[!!!   NO -ES1 here,  only -EVAL parts  !!!]]]

    Zynq UltraScale+ ES2   ->  xczu9eg-xxxxxx-es2

    Here is something:

    Went into the board files dirs, changed all occurrences of ES1 to EVAL,  -es1 to -EVAL.

    Now the board packages showed up.   HOWEVER !!!

    HOWEVER !!!  probably can not gen bit file, since the LICENSE entry are for -es1 [!!!] parts, not for -EVAL parts.

    In the meantime, while waiting for a definitive solution, I am pushing ahead ....

    Hi mtsao,

    I believe you installed the "Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC Early Access License 2016.4 Devices" located on Xilinx's website correct? If that is the case then the devices you are seeing are correct.

    The correct license you needed to install for the ES1 Silicon devices should have came with your development kit(Sheet of papter with license information). If for some reason you did not recieve this license with your development kit, please reach out and I will assist in providing you one.

    Not sure the implication of "Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC Early Access License 2016.4 Devices"

    I followed the instructions on the kit & on the Xilinx License site, typed in the voucher #'s.  Received a xilinx.lic file, with these entries.  Note the "xczu3eg-es1"

    The "-ES1" is consistent between the .lic & the board files.  But my Linux 2016.4 Vivado does not have -es1 parts.  It only has -EVAL parts.

    Could this be a wrong build (newer/older) of Vivado 2016.4?  or a Win vs. Linux issue?  (at this point I don't have a Win machine available to cross check.  & I had already used up this one voucher.)

    Will let you know how far I got with board files's <part_info part_name="xczu3eg-sfva625-1-i-EVAL">

    Is this "Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC Early Access License 2016.4 Devices" a special file?

    Well, no license for -EVAL parts.   The UltraZed voucher genernated .lic for -ES1 parts.

    Maybe time to begin a new thread of discussion.

    ERROR: [Common 17-345] A valid license was not found for feature 'Synthesis' and/or device 'xczu3eg-EVAL'. 

    Please run the Vivado License Manager for assistance in determining
    which features and devices are licensed for your system.
    Resolution: Check the status of your licenses in the Vivado License Manager. For debug help search Xilinx Support for "Licensing FAQ".
