Ethernet is not working on UltraZed Board

tarekeldeeb
tarekeldeeb over 7 years ago
I tried UltraZed Board with the off-the-shelf SD Card and it's booting correctly.

But I have a problem with the Ethernet, I cannot find eth0

I attached the linux booting log file.
  I have in trace:

[    3.423519] macb ff0e0000.ethernet eth0: Could not attach to PHY

Do you have an idea how to solve this problem?

    Hello,

Is this for the UltraZed-EG I/O or PCIe Carrier?  In any case this is an old PetaLinux image from 2016.  If my memory is correct we made a change to the MDIO PHY address on the SOM, and so if you are trying to boot this 2016.2 image on a current production rev SOM, it does not surprise me that Ethernet doesn't work.  A quick solution would be to boot a current PetaLinux 2018.2 BSP:

    I/O Carrier:
    http://www.ultrazed.org/support/design/17596/131

    PCIe Carrier:
    http://www.ultrazed.org/support/design/17956/141

Instructions for installing the BSPs can be found in Xilinx UG1144, Chapter 3:
    http://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/sw_manuals/xilinx2018_2/ug1144-petalinux-tools-reference-guide.pdf

    Cheers,
    Tom
