UZ3EG - DisplayPort - Petalinux/Vivado 2018.2

Hi all,

DisplayPort worked on our UZ3EG based board when using Petalinux/Vivado 2016.4.

Now we try to switch to 2018.2 version but DisplayPort no more works. When having a look at Linux boot log, I found a mesage saying "failed to configure link values" and "failed to train DP link".

Any idea on how to fix it?

Hello,
Did you rebuild it from scratch or just open the same project in 2018.2 and update IPs?
Please try rebuilding it from scratch.

Hello Josh,
I'll answer for Vincent who's in vacation right now!!
There was an error in the Vivado PS configuration, dealing with the reference clock for the DisplayPort (actually when I upgraded my VIVADO projet from 2016.4 to 2018.2 I had to recreate all the PS by hand because the tool didn't want to do it...so I forgot these reference clokcs).
Now it works!

Could you please mention the FPGA design (reference desing) and petalinux BSP you used in order to work with Display Port?

Hello shpasser,
We began our work on the DisplayPort at the early beginning of the Ultrazed with no real reference design so we spent a lot of time trying, reading ZCU102 documents, the DisplayPort standard, changing the device tree, playing witht an EDID editor, etc etc. We were in 2016.4.
From the hardware point of view we have a clock wizard feeding a 154MHz to the dp_video_in_clk.
From the LINUX point of view I'll let Vincent answer you!

Hi Ron,
We created a Petalinux project from scratch for our Ultrazed-3EG SOM without using a packaged BSP.
After Christophe modifications on design, I just had to modify generated device tree to use our clock wizard generated clock for dp_live_video_in_clk and it worked.
