UltraZed - Ethernet DP83867 Power Up Question

Hello

Thank you as always for the great help and information you all give here on the forum.

Just reviewing the schematic for the SOM and reviewing the datasheet for the DP83867 Ethernet PHY used on the board.  Wanted to ask about the power-up sequence spec'd out on the datasheet for the DP83867.  On page 119 of the datasheet in 3 supply mode the 1.8V supply for VDDA1P8 must come up either at the same time as the 2.5V supply or after the 2.5V supply maximum though of 25mS.  Now from the SOM User guide page 39 Figure 15 we know the 1.8V(VCCO_PSIO) comes up before the 2.5V(derived from the 3.3V).  So how is this ok than on the UltraZed board??

There is also a note on page 119 which states that the 1.8V can come up before or at any time of the 2.5V if the 2.5V only supplies the DP83867 which is not the case on the SOM.  Not sure why it matters if the 2.5V is only suppling the DP83867 or other devices too???

Thank you

Gary

    Hello Gary,

That is a new statement in the latest datasheet. When we had first designed with this device that requirement did not exist.

This would be a better question to pose to TI.
