ADC JESD204B Carrier card with Ultrazed

I am interested in spinning a custom carrier board with the TI ADS54J40 dual channel 14 bit ADC chip operating at 1GSPS. The interface standard for the ADC chip is JESD204B. Would I be able to use the Ultrazed SOM to read data off it by designing the custom board to mate with the ADC carrier card?

    Hello arve,

I don't see why not, so long as everything on your carrier card is designed correctly so your UltraZed comes up as intended.

Please take a look at our carrier card design guide.

We also offer the source files for our carrier cards to help you get started on your customer carrier card design.

If interesed in that, please contact your local Avnet FAE.

    Thanks Josh!

Also I am interested to know if we can write the high speed data coming in to the FPGA through the JESD204B interface to the 8GB eMMC in the Ultrazed and if yes what would be the interface and max data rate we could achieve so that there is no  dutycycling required to keep up the eMMC writing data rate to the incoming data rate? Is there any other interface you would suggest we include in the carrier board for data storage like an SD card slot or so?
