Questions for FMC-MULTI-CAM4

Hello,

I want to use FMC-MULTI-CAM4 for camera input to my system.

But there is no Vivado project for RTL, and modified project which extracted from SDx project does not working (it seems it could not initialize cam module)

and DisplayPort does not working in reference design (prebuilt)

Could you give me Vivado 2018.2 project for FMC-MULTI-CAM4 ?

I just need Single channel of GMSL camera

but if it does not working, 4-ch GMSL project for vivado is ok for me.

    Hi,

What board are you looking to connect the camera to?

    Thanks,

    Josh

    I'm using ZCU102 for cameras.

    Thanks, Hanseung.

    Hello,

Please use the lastest 2018.3 version of the revision platform for ZCU102.

       http://ultrazed.org/sites/default/files/design/FMC_MULTICAM4_REVISION_Tutorial_2018_3_01.zip

This platform contains the hardware design in DSA format (design source archive).  You can open the hardware design by typing the "open_dsa" command in the TCL console.

This platform also has a pre-built image that works with 1 camera and the DisplayPort output, located in the sdcard directory.

Note that the single camera configuration can be configured in the device tree when building petalinux images.

    Hope this helps !

    Mario

    Thanks Mario

GMSL(4ch, 1ch at device tree) to DP works well with 2018.3 project from your link.

but when I try to remove HDMI tx/rx and three other GMSL pipeline, Sensor not initialized.

    Hanseung,

Notice that there is a hard-coded I2C bus/device in the mediactl_helper.c source file:

         ERROR(../src/mediactl_helper.c:100) : Entity 'AR0231.25-0011' not found

When you remove I2C devices from the device tree content, these ids will change.

In the case of your modified design, the new id appears previously in the boot log you provided:

         AR0231 24-0010

You will need to change the application code to reflect this change.

The code you are looking for is located in the petalinux recipe for the xlnxvideosrc plug-in.

         project-spec/meta-user/recipes-apps/gst-plugins-xlnx/files/gst-plugins-xlnx.zip

It will also be located in the petalinux recipe for the video_qt2 application.

         project-spec/meta-user/recipes-apps/video-qt2files/video-qt2.zip

For additional help on how to rebuild these components individually (for testing), please refer to the following Xilinx wiki page:

         https://xilinx-wiki.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/A/pages/46923869/Zynq+UltraScale+MPSoC+Base+TRD+2018.3+-+Design+Module+5

    Regards,

    Mario.

The link for the 2018.3 version of the revision platform for ZCU102 redirects to some other pages. Can you please share these files with a valid link?

Hello, this thread was helpful. However, the link for the ''FMC_MULTICAM4_REVISION_Tutorial_2018_3_01.zip" file is not working. Can anyone please share me the updated link or share me the files in any medium. Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi Mario and others, I'm interested at doing a project based on FMC-MULTICAM4, do you still have valid download urls for followings?

That product is now obsolete, so there is no new development being made for it.

The latest designs from Avnet for UltraZed-EV (only) can be found on Hackster.io:

    • https://www.hackster.io/AlbertaBeef/automatic-activation-of-a-simple-white-balance-algorithm-7d1cb8

The latest designs from Xilinx for ZCU106 (only) can be found on AMD/Xilinx's wiki:

If you search on AMD/Xilinx's wiki pages, you may find versions of the demo for other ZCU10x carriers.

    Hope this helps !

    Mario.
