UltraZed-EG GTR and PL_SYS Clock

Reymon
Reymon over 1 year ago

Hi,
I am designing my own custom carrier board to support the UltraZed-EG SOM and planned to use the same IDT clock synthesizer that is used on their IOCC carrier board. The correct part number mentioned in some publication is 5P49V5935B536LTGI instead of 5P49V5935B521LTGI. The problem is that electronic component distributors (Mouser, Digikey, Avnet,...) do not have this part available. My question is, can I make my design using multiple clock generators for each GTR_REFCLK and PL_SYSCLK signal without affecting performance?

The 5P49V5935B536LTGI is a custom part number for a pre-programmed clock from Renesas. It is orderable but more than likely not held in stock. The generic clock chip could work as well but needs to be programed the via I2C.

If this is not desirable, you can implement the clock with individual oscillators, but should meet the requirements/specifications of the datasheet and GTR user guides.
