UltraZed-EV Starter Kit and USB3 camera interface

Hello,

I'm working on a video processing project where I need to interface an USB3 camera and I'm looking to the possibility to acquire the UltraZed-EV Starter Kit for this, but looking to the next SOM specs:

I only see reference to USB2.0 interface....

Would it be possible to interface USB3 camera (UVC compatible) with this kit? or is it limited to USB2.0 devices?

Hi Jose,

I think that is a little misleading. There is a USB 2.0 ULPI PHY. USB 3.0 uses the GTR transceivers directly. If you look under the product brief listed here:

http://ultrazed.org/sites/default/files/product_briefs/5342-pb-ultrazed-ev-som-v1_0.pdf

You can see that USB 3.0 is listed as capabilities
"- 4 PS GTR transceivers (support SATA 3.0, USB 3.0, PCIe Gen2, and DisplayPort interfaces)".

Hi drozwood90,

Thanks to clarify this, now it's clear that it will support USB3 since the GTR transceivers are connected straight to the PS.

Could you please confirm whether or not the Ultrazed-EV USB3.0 supports OTG?

If you take a look at the User Guide for the Carrier Card, page 13-14, you can see that the connector has USB-OTG connections. I do not have a reference design to share regarding this.
