Transfer data from PL to userspace

Hi,

I am trying to transfer 32bits(4 words) from PL to userspace. So i added a dma engine and an axi interface to PS. In the PL, it writes to dma and in the application it reads the information. I need to transfer 32bit with a frequency of 5MHz and with that configuration the reading is too slow. I think that is strange because the throughput of dma is high and it should work fine so i don't know what to do.

I'm not sure that DMA is the best approach here if the data is small and slow. The easiest possible way would simply be to configure a PS-GPIO peripheral with access through EMIO. Connect this to your peripheral for data transfer. You could also turn your peripheral into an AXI custom peripheral and tie it directly through a GP port back to the PS.
