I am having trouble reading from the port W12. Can I just make the verilog statement "assign LED1 = (Net with loc W12) and the LED will light up when I connect 3.3 volts to JB1?

What is LED1 in your project? Are you doing all of this in the PL or trying to control from the PS? If in the PL, have you configured the PL and seen the blue DONE LED light?

LED1 is the F22 port and I am working in the PL, I got it working though but I still don't understand why It didn't work to start with. I think it had something to do with the fact that xillydemo uses the LEDs.
