Accelerometer reference design?

henry10210

Hi all, it's getting on nearly a year since Xfest 2014, in which I saw a demo that includes an accelerometer.  After googling, I found something that Lars wrote (http://wiki.analog.com/resources/fpga/xilinx/pmod/adxl345).  But the date is slightly newer than the Xfest 2014 date, so I am not sure if this is what I saw.

Can anyone share his knowledge on the current best accelerometer reference design on Zedboard?

w/ regards,
Henry

    Henry,
I'm glad that you attended X-Fest!
There was a demo called the Sensor Fusion demo.  It had an accelerometer based reference design on it called "MEMS-Based Vibration Analyzer with Frequency Response Compensation".  It is made by Analog Devices.  In the demo, it was used to create a vibration profile of the servo - which simulated the motor on a plastic extrusion machine.  Adding one moe piece of data for preventative maintenance.

Here is a link to the CN0303: http://www.analog.com/en/design-center/reference-designs/hardware-reference-design/circuits-from-the-lab/CN0303.html

    Is this what you saw?

Thanks for the quick reply Dan, I can't recall exactly.  My note from that day only says PMOD, so I don't remember if this was it.  Can we take a step back: I am just looking to pick up a accelerometer board that I can read easily from Zedboard (already running Linux).  I can read either IIO ADC, or use the device driver that I pointed to in my original email.  Can you please advise?
