Hi
I have noticed the same effect also with ZC702 , and I have posted to xilinx.
When I want to run linux, on ZEDBOARD, using XMD, through U-boot, some times it freezes completely.
This does not happen always, and looks like a kind of random phenomenon. When it happens i just re-cycle power, and every thing goes well.
here is the output when the linux crashes:

stops working at this point completely.
any body has any idea about this?
