Creating custom AXI4 IP with interrupt in Vivado 2015.2

Former Member

Hi,

I used the AR#51138 as reference to create a  custom AXI4 IP with interrupt in Vivado 2015.2.

I connected the irq port of the custom IP through an axi interrupt controller to the IRQ_F2P port of the zynq processor.

I used the sdk code from AR#51138. The initial tests have passed. However the interrupt isn't received by the
processor.

Where am I going wrong?

Thanks and Regards,
Chaitra

    Hello Chaitra,

AR 51138 does not seem like an appropriate guide for what you are trying to accomplish. It is quite dated, using the ISE tool suite instead of Vivado, and it targets the MicroBlaze processor rather than the Zynq.

I think you would be better served looking at the Avnet Zynq SW Speedway Workshop material or perhaps Adam Taylor's blog entries.

Lab 10 of the Avnet Zynq SW Speedway addresses using interrupts from a custom IP block. You can find the material here:

Developing ZynqRegistered-7000 All Programmable SoC Software (Vivado 2013.3 and 2014.4.1)

Adam Taylor's various blog entries cover interrupts and creating custom AXI peripherals. Take a look a a list of links here:

    http://zedboard.org/content/microzed-chronicles

You could also look at the interrupt driven software examples in the SDK for some of the AXI peripherals available in the Xilinx IP catalog.

    -Gary
