UART baud rate 921600 configuration

Hi!

I use Zedboard platform and digilent usb to uart pmods.

I want to transfer data from Matlab to Zedboard with baud rate 921600. I made a design in vivado and I set the uartlite component to that baud rate and I made a serial port from my Matlab with the same characteristics. When I send 1 byte it arrives correctly to the zed but when I try to send a whole packet of bytes nothing seems to arrive. I read to some posts that this baud rate gives lots of errors. Is that true? And they say something about uart and the system clock configuration that I am not sure that I understand. Can I do something to correct the issue? I want to transfer data to the zed with 1MB per sec. The pmods max baud is 1Mbaud. Is it possible that this is a Matlab issue and not Zedboards?

    Hi lafe,

I would recommend having a look at our ZedBoard tutorial "Basic Vivado IPI Design", found on the ZedBoard tutorials page.

It gives an example of connecting buttons and LEDs as PL peripherals to the PS7 ARM core via AXI-Lite GPIO connection.  The design also includes a UART terminal application which may help you create a design that communicates with Matlab's serial port function.
