Hello,
I'm considering to buy a Zedboard to implement a specific idea I have. To implement my idea I have to use the the PTP clock as the clock for the audio codec.
Is that possible with reasonable effort?
Thanks,
Jan

Hello Jade,
Unfortunatly I have not attempted such design so I am unable to help you in that regards,
However I did find quite a few other forum posts that you may find useful.

Hello Josh,
thank you very much for the forum links. From the desgin by hamster I take that is possible to "choose" a clock for the audio codec. Now the question is whether the PTP clock is "accessible" in such a way that I can use it for the audio codec. I'm completely new to FPGA so I am not sure what to look for. There is very detailed information on IEEE1588 and PTP in ug585-Zynq-7000-TRM.pdf. Judging from the density of information it should be possible.
Is there an IP or an example implementation for PTP available?
Regards
Jan
