kgdbwait parameter is not waiting while booting the board

Hi,

I have enabled the KGDB for kernel debugging through serial in kernel config and passing the below arguments in kernel parameter, but kernel is not waiting for GDB to debug.

Kernel arguments:
setenv bootargs console=ttyPS0,115200 kgdboc=ttyPS0,115200 kgdbwait root=/dev/nfs nfsroot=<NFS-server-ip>:/home/nfs-setup/rfs ip=::::zed:eth0:off rw earlyprintk

kernel configuaration:
CONFIG_HAVE_ARCH_KGDB=y
CONFIG_KGDB=y
CONFIG_KGDB_SERIAL_CONSOLE=y
# CONFIG_KGDB_TESTS is not set
# CONFIG_KGDB_KDB is not set

and

CONFIG_DEBUG_INFO=y
# CONFIG_DEBUG_INFO_REDUCED is not set

Please let me know how to enable the kgdb in zedboards while booting the board.

Can't help you with the serial debug setup, but is there some reason you cannot use the SDK for this purpose? There are a number of instructional documents online for various versions of the SDK tools, so if you search the Xilinx support site you should be able to locate the one that corresponds to your version.

Hi,

I referred all the document for kgdbwait during the kernel boot, but nothing is working on my case. and also I tested the KGDBwait in another board (am335x starter kit)working fine, only the issue in zedboard.
So let me how to resolve this issue.
