Zedboard FMC: External Clock

Hi all

I'm realy new to the Zedboard, but it looks very interesting.

An so I've a question: for a school-project I need an external clock in the PL (a teacher told me that this isn't realy complex). Unfortunately there isn't any SMA connector for an external clock (like it was at the spartan-3 boards). I read in this forum, that there are 2 possibile clock inputs on the FMC connector (FMC_CLK0_P / FMC-CLK0_N and FMC_CLK1_P / FMC-CLK1_N). So I could use them. Is there any existing fmc-board that I can use? I found several for ethernet, da and ad conversion, but nothing so simple.

And if there isn't one, what is the exactly connecter I've to use for a selfmade-board?

I hope you could help me...
thank you very much
best regards.

    Hi Kevin

Thank you very much for your fast response.

    Yes, I need a off-board clock source.
The Debug-Board looks great. Nearly what I've looked for. But with this restrictions I can live.

Are there any problem, if I use the single ended clock (the P one) as the clock input (82MHz) and and the negative one as normal IO (signal 100kHz to 8.2MHz with defined phase to the 82MHz)? It would be nice, if I can use both sma-connector independ.

The best would be if there is a board with 4 sma connectors, but I can live with only 2 (independ).

    Best regards,
    Patrick
